Astoria, Oregon - Commissioned by the City of Astoria, MulvannyG2 is leading a design team to help Oregon community members create a tribute to Astoria’s early Chinese immigrants, honoring their culture, and recognizing their contributions to the growth of the city. The 5,000 square foot park will revitalize the area creating an observation area midway along the Astoria Riverwalk. Visitors are greeted by a Moon Gate entrance framed in Corten steel with historic quotes and stories of the Astoria community. Within the park, a timeline wall with metallic markers depicts historical events and the design incorporates many places for people to relax and play chess. |
